BIO

Grammy winning Alysia Velez made her Broadway debut as Rapunzel in the critically acclaimed revival of Into The Woods. She continued wearing the "hair as yellow as corn" during Into The Woods limited engagements to different cities.
She also performed as Vanessa in The Munys' premiere of In The Heights 2024.
Alysia was also a part of TikTok's first commissioned musical, For You, Paige ( Emily Maltby, Dir. Katie Spelman, Choreog.). Alysia (BM ’22) moved to New York after receiving full scholarship at the Manhattan School of Music to study in their musical theatre program and played Janet Van de Graaff her senior year in The Drowsy Chaperone (Evan Pappas,
Dir. David Loud, MD. Liza Gennaro, Choreog.). Alysia had her opera debut with Magic City Opera playing the Sand Man and the Dew Fairy in their production of Hansel and Gretel.

In The Pattern was a solo show created, directed, choreographed, music by Alysia Velez that featured her original songs.

Alysia is also invested in the progression and growth of young artists expressed through her work with Miami Childrens' Theatre. Some of her favorites includes Choreographer for their production of Aladdin and The Lion King Jr. performed at the South-Dade Cultural Arts Center, Director of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory and most recent, Choreographer for School of Rock.
